Oop! I'm Babbling Again...

Whatever little thing pops into my head. Whatever happens to be going on at the time. Whatever catches my fancy. Whatever I happen to find amusing, stupid, fantastic or worthy. Oops, there I go...babbling again!

Sunday Afternoon

Saw a new movie today: The Inside Man with Denzel Washington, Clive Owen, Jodie Foster, Christopher Plummer, Willem Defoe, Chiwetel Ejiofor and directed by Spike Lee. All in all it was really good flick and I would highly recommend it.

I wasn't really in the mood for a drama, action, crime, mystery, thriller. I was looking forward to something a little lighter with humour, or maybe a girls kick-ass flick. It wasn't hard for Andrew to talk me into it though after I saw the cast.

First off, I loved the music at the beginning and end of the movie. The song is called Chaiyya Chaiyya by Sukhwinder Singh. I will own it. I can't recall the score by Terence Blanchard during the body of the movie, so it was completely unobtrusive for me. I think that's great, although others will argue. To me it means the music lent itself to the overall flavor of the film without overpowering it.

Second, I didn't know what to think of Jodie Foster's charactor when I saw her shoes. You know me and shoes (shoes, yea!), but these went beyond cruel shoes. They were powerful and pretty...and painful to watch. Great suit though. Great suit and hat for Denzel too. (You can take the girl out of retail...)

Once the movie started, I got a little cocky when I anticipated a couple of twists and turns, but it didn't take long to realize I was supposed to anticipate them...so the rug could get pulled out from under me and I was pulled right back in and intrigued all over again!

Clive Owen (yum!) was fantastic in the role. Denzel was his usual fabulous self. Jodie was doing something new and I loved it! Christopher Plummer broke my heart, but I can't tell you why without revealing too much. I was surprised by Willem Dafoe and Chiwetel Ejiofor (the Operative in Serenity) were fun, but I wanted more...only so much to go around in a two hour movie!

I would pay money to go see this again. Not that I paid for this one. Thank you, Andrew, for returning all of those bottle and cans!

Only, dopey me - I forgot to cash out the slips when I paid for the groceries afterward.

I liked the movie too! Spike Lee enters the mainstream with style. I was totally impressed.
